Murphy believes that among the three ESG elements, environmental sustainability will pose the greatest challenge. With new requirements for organizations to report their fossil fuel footprint, companies are venturing into unfamiliar territory. Consequently, they will need to adapt their processes, which will become easier as management understands the impact on the balance sheet.
