by | Sep 4, 2025

On 1 and 2 September 2025, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Singapore, in collaboration with The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc., hosted the Singapore leg of its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Focus Group Series. The session brought together governance, risk, and compliance professionals from across the Asia Pacific region to exchange insights, discuss emerging trends, and share best practices in risk management. Participants joined from the United States, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh, and Singapore, underscoring the global and regional reach of the dialogue.

Through the partnership between the Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore (RIMAS) and IIA Singapore, two ARiMI alumni were part of the Singapore discussions, Timothy Soh (ARiMI-CPRM™) and Clarence Chong (ARiMI-CERM™), who also serves as Secretary of RIMAS, both participated actively in the dialogues alongside peers from across the region.

The discussions reinforced that managing risk today requires collaboration beyond traditional boundaries of industry and geography, as well as the ability to adapt to rapid changes such as AI and emerging technologies. The Singapore session highlighted how professional bodies can work together to connect diverse voices and advance the practice of ERM across the region.
